General Information

School Office Hours

The school office hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year. For the protection of our school, all visitors must stop by the office and get a visitor’s pass.

Parents Coming to School

When coming to school for any reason, for safety reasons, parents are asked to stop at the office and ask for assistance.

  • For your children’s safety, do not go to your child’s classroom without first checking in at the front office.  School personnel will get your child from their classroom for you.
  • Classroom visits are allowed with prior administrative approval, although parent visits to the school at any time are allowed.

Lunch

A hot lunch is served daily in the cafeteria.  In addition, students may also choose a hot dog or peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch each day.  You are also welcome to bring your lunch to school.   Milk and snacks may be purchased on a daily basis.

Medication

Students may not keep medication on their person. All medications are to be left in the school office with the physician’s instructions. Medication in the form of chewing gum is not permitted without special permission. Medication will be administered only with written authorization from the physician or the student’s parent/guardian, which includes:

  • Student’s name
  • Diagnosis
  • Name of medication
  • Amount of dosage and how long to be given at school
  • Physician’s name and phone number

Health Information

It is a state requirement to have immunization records for each student; therefore, an up-to-date immunization record for every student is necessary. The Health Department requires that the day, month, and year be recorded for all immunizations. Immunization forms, which are to be completed by the student’s doctor, are available in the school office.

Weather-Related School Closing

MCA follows the normal procedure of contacting parents when it is determined that the school must close due to inclement weather. Radio stations will also announce school closings. When Hall County Public Schools close, Maranatha will follow suit.
